Back to the amateurs

These were sad years for the club resulting in a 15th place in the Second Division in 1971.
To everyone's surprise R.B.C. was send back to the amateurs following a sudden decision of the league directors.
  Short club history

R.B.C. Roosendaal was founded in 1912.
R.B.C. stands for Roosendaal Boys Combination.
The club has always been playing on a high level.
First in amateur leagues. When the Dutch Professional Football League began in 1955 R.B.C. played in Second Division, which they won in '56/'57. They achieved promotion to the First Division, and stayed there untill 1969.

Succesfull years

In the amateur league R.B.C. Roosendaal was very succesfull, proving the football federation wrong winning four successive championships.
The football federation waited untill 1983 to make it able for amateurclubs to get into the ranks of professionals. R.B.C. was the first ever team to do so.

Back where we belong!

In 1983 we came back where we belong; in professional leagues. The first match, against our rivals of N*C Breda (who were favourites for the title), was a well-deserved 3-0 victory.

After two years in the First Division, R.B.C. Roosendaal reached a climax in their history.
They reached the Cup Final for the first time ever.
Unfortunately Ajax won (2-0).

The absolute climax in club history came in the year 2000, as R.B.C. Roosendaal achieved promotion to the "Eredivisie", the highest Dutch league, for the first time in club history.

Relegation
It came as no surprise that R.B.C., being a small-sized club, relegated again the next year. So in the 2001-2002 season, they are playing in the First Division again.
